Heads-up
You have selected a future year
2040 hasn't happened yet — it is 14 years after 2026, so nobody can have been born in 2040 and nobody from 2040 exists today. The calculator below will remind you of this too. Meanwhile, here is the timeline people born in 2040 will follow: they turn 1 in 2041, 10 in 2050, 18 in 2058 and 21 in 2061.
What ages will people born in 2040 reach?
Because 2040 is still 14 years in the future, no one born in 2040 exists yet — their age today is effectively zero minus 14. The moment 2040 arrives they are 0, on January 1, 2041 they turn 1, and by December 31, 2058 they are all 18. Pick an earlier year in the directory if you meant a year that already happened.

The exact math
Age is always the year you are asking about − birth year. For 2040 babies that gives:
- 2041 − 2040 = 1 → they turn 1 during 2041.
- 2058 − 2040 = 18 → legal adulthood arrives in 2058.
For an answer exact to the second — including months, days, hours and minutes — use the calculator above, or compare ages with family and friends on our Compare Ages page.
