Common questions about “If I am [age]”
How do I work backwards from “If I am 25, what year was I born in?”
Use current year − age. For 2026 − 25 = 2001. If your birthday has already happened in 2026 you were born in 2001, if not yet, in 2000. Every age page shows both years — e.g. 18 → 2008 or 2007.
Why does every age have two possible birth years?
Because of the birthday cut-off. Until your birthday arrives you are still the previous year's age. That's why “what year would I be born in if I was 18?” always has two answers until your birthday — we show both and explain which applies.
