FAQ — Age difference calculator
Common questions about comparing ages
How does the age difference calculator work?
Enter two dates of birth — we subtract the older from the younger using calendar-accurate borrowing (leap years, varying month lengths, hours/minutes if you add birth times). Result: exact gap in years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds, plus who is older/younger, current ages, combined age, generations and zodiac side by side.
How do I find my age on a specific past or future date?
Switch to Age at a specific date. Enter your birthday as Person A and any date — e.g. 2010-06-15 or 2030-01-01 — as the second date. You get exactly how old you were or will be that day in years, months and days. Perfect for “how old was I when…?” questions.
Why does the months count vary (e.g. 1 month = 28–31 days)?
Months are calendar months, not 30-day blocks. Jan 31 → Feb 29 is 29 days but also “1 month minus 1 day” in borrowing — our diffYmd borrows actual month lengths so Jan 31 → Mar 1 is correctly 29–30 days, never negative days.
Can I compare family ages — siblings, parent and child, couples?
Yes — ideal for siblings, couples, parent/child or friends. Examples: Alex (2005) vs Sam (2008) shows 3 years gap; generation and zodiac cards show Boomer × Millennial etc. All results export as PNG cards.
Is the comparison private? Do you store birthdays?
Everything runs in your browser. No account, no storage, no tracking — birthdays never leave your device. Print or download uses local canvas; sharing uses native share or copied link only.
Can I download or share the comparison?
Yes — after comparing, use Image (PNG) to download a branded card with logo, date and gap, or Print for PDF. Share straight to WhatsApp, X, Facebook, Telegram or Reddit.
